Harris County Jail

11-13-08 I received a phone call from the Harris County Jail. Message said not to dial *72 because I may be charged additional monies. By answering the phone I was charged $3.25 I think; but they called again, so I answered thinking it may be a family member. The supposed officer said to punch in *72 so I can get a refund from his secretary but I did not because the previous message said not to due to extra charges. I need to sue the Harris County Jail to get my money back. I dialed the number he gave me 832-785-45__ and the girl did not know anything about it. Is the officer correct or is it a scam being played by someone or the City to get money. Who can I call?

Do you have any new information on this? Because the same thing keeps happening to me, and I don't know how to make it stop
